I hereby order that the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff at the White House and on all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the United States as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence committed on January 21, 2023, in Monterey Park, California. This authority is granted to me as President of the United States by the Constitution and laws of the United States of America. I also order that all American embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad—including all military installations, naval vessels, and stations—fly the flag at half-staff for the same amount of time.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, on this twenty-second day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-three, and on this two hundred and forty-seventh anniversary of the United States of America’s Independence, I have hereunto set my hand.
